DRIVERS are being warned to avoid the M2 heading into Belfast following a collision involving up to four vehicles around lunchtime today.
The cars collided on the M2 city-bound just past the Fortwilliam junction near the Duncrue Street off-slip.
This is causing delays for motorists in the area.
One of the vehicles involved is a black Volvo XC90 4 X 4 vehicle.
It sustained severe frontal damage to the jeep style vehicle.
One car was pulled onto the hard shoulder on the outside lane and the driver was being tended to by a paramedic.
A PSNI spokesman said a number of lanes were blocked by the cars and an ambulance was at the scene.
Motorists are urged to seek an alternative route.
