MAN VICIOUSLY ASSAULTED IN SOUTH BELFAST

Police crime scene picDETECTIVES are on the trail of two men who brutally launched attacked a man in south Belfast this morning.

Police say the 43-year-old victim was attacked by two men in their early 20s, at 6.30 am in Dermore Avenue.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy said: “I would ask anyone who saw two men in the Ormeau Road area around this time to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
