WEST Belfast Councillor Tim Attwood has met with staff of Park Centre Dunnes following an announcement that 50 jobs will be lost when they close their food outlet on the site.
Cllr Attwood met with the Dunnes Stores staff and trade union officials on site following the announcement.
He said: “The staff are in a state of utter dismay after this meeting.
“While there were concerns following the closure of Connswater for them this announcement has come out of the blue and many suggested that this could have been handled better.”
“The management must now demonstrate their commitment to the welfare of their staff by committing resources to a programme of retraining or reemployment for those who are losing their jobs.”
