POLICE say a woman has died after being hit by a car.

The female pedestrian died following an incident involving a green car in the Diamond area of the seaside town of Ballycastle on Sunday afternoon.

According to the PSNI, an 18-year-old woman has been arrested.

She has been taken to Coleraine police station to be questioned.

Investigating officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on the 101 number.
