DETECTIVES are investigating after a man was left seriously injured after being stabbed in west Belfast.

Police say the attack happened on the Cullingtree Road in the Clonard district around 6 am this morning, Sunday, November 1.

The man was rushed by ambulance to the nearby Royal Victoria Hospital’s accident and emergency department to be treated for his stab injuries.

Detective have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on the 101 non emergency number.

It is the second stabbing in the area within the space of a few days.
