DETECTIVES have charged a man with the attempted murder after a 19-year-old man was stabbed in the back in Belfast.

The stab murder bid happened on High Street around 9.30 pm on Thursday night.

Police said the suspect then fled on foot into Waring Street and was arrested.

He was taken to the PACE custody suite at Musgrave PSNI station.

The 23-year-old is also charged with possession of class B and class C drugs and assault on police.

He is due to appear in Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Saturday, October 31.
