POLICE NAME MURDER VICTIM FOUND DEAD IN GARAGE

Police car collectDETECTIVES have today named the man whose body was found in a garage at Coalisland last Thursday.

He is 32 year old Gediminas Stauskas, a Lithuanian national with connections to the Dungannon area.

A murder probe was launched following a post mortem examination but police have not yet released details of how he died.

Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team are continuing to investigate a possible link between this murder and an incident in Coalisland on Wednesday 14 October when a man is reported to have been assaulted and shot in the leg.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee McNevison, who is leading the murder investigation, said: “If anyone saw anything unusual in the Moor Road area of Coalisland in recent days we would like them to contact detectives at Dungannon police station by calling the non-emergency number 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
