DETECTIVES have renewed their appeal for information over the rape of a young woman in south Belfast last month.
The serious sexual assault happened in the Upper Malone Road area on Wednesday, September 16.
The woman, who is in her 20s, was walking along an alleyway leading from the Upper Malone Road to Ramore Park at around 10.30 pm when she was attacked by a man.
The attacker is described as being around 5’10” tall, in his late teens, of thin build and was wearing a dark-coloured hooded top.
Last night, police revisited the scene between 9 pm and 11 pm in the hope of speaking to potential witnesses to the assailant and the sex attack.
Detective Sergeant Gary Chambers said: “We are very keen to identify the male responsible for this attack.
“I would appeal to anyone who has any information which could assist us with our enquiries to contact detectives at the Rape Crime Unit at Ladas Drive on 101.
“Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
