TWO MEN CHARGED OVER EAST BELFAST FLAT BLAZE

Fire crew sceneDETECTIVES have charged two men to court over a blaze in east Belfast early yesterday morning.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

He is also charged with two counts of burglary over the incident in at the three storey Helm Housing property in The Mount area of Woodstock Link in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A second man, aged 20, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, burglary and two counts of burglary with intent to cause unlawful damage.

Both men are due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, Monday, October 5.

An 18-year-old woman was also arrested on Saturday and later released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

Residents of the property had to be evacuated to a local community centre while fire fighters brought the blaze under control.
