A POST mortem is expected to be carried out later on the body of a man which was recovered from a pier yesterday.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man after his remains were taken from the water at Donaghadee in Co Down.

A boat was launched from Donaghadee Lifeboat Station early yesterday morning after the alarm was raised.

Police and paramedics also attended the scene.#

A PSNI spokesperson said: “A post mortem examination will be carried out to determine the cause of death.”
