ELDERLY WOMEN ROBBED OF HANDBAGS IN EAST BELFAST

Police sceneDETECTIVES are appealing for information following the report of the robbery of two elderly women in the Downshire Park Central area of Belfast at approximately 1.30pm on Tuesday, 15 September.

The women were walking along the street when they were approached by two unknown men. The men grabbed handbags belonging to the women. In trying to resist, both women were knocked to the ground. They sustained cuts and bruises.

The offenders initially made off on foot before getting into a silver coloured mini parked nearby.

Two handbags containing a sum of money were stolen.

D/Inspector Colgan would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have observed this silver coloured Mini car to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime Bangor PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101.
