DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have launched a probe after a suspicious package was found this evening.

The parcel was intercepted by sorting staff working at Royal Mail’s complex at Enterprise Way in Mallusk.

They had been on alert to look out for suspicious parcels after one got through the system last Friday and exploded in a Royal Mail delivery van parked inside Palace Barracks in Holywood, Co Down.

Army Technical Officers have also been tasked to the scene to examine the package.
