COPS SEIZE £100,000 WORTH OF DRUGS HEADING TO NORTHERN IRELAND

£120,000 herbal cannabis haulDETTECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch aided by officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA), have seized £100,000 worth of herbal cannabis destined for Northern Ireland.

Three houses have been searched in Lisburn, Belfast and Antrim in connection with the seizure.

One man has been interviewed in connection with the seizure and has been released pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Patrick Mullan of the PSNI Organised Crime Branch said: “The importation of illegal drugs causes significant harm within communities.

“We will continue to investigate those involved in bringing misery to the communities within Northern Ireland.”

Detective Sergeant Patrick Mullan added: “Whilst I welcome the fact that these drugs have been taken off our streets, I continue to appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information about the supply or use of illegal drugs.

“Anyone with any information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
