TWO MEN HUNTED OVER SOUTH BELFAST ARMED ROBBERY

Police crime scene picDETECTIVES are appealing for information following a robbery of commercial premises in the Lisburn Road area of south Belfast.

It happened around lunchtime on Saturday, August 8.

Detective Sergeant Dolores Black said: “Shortly after 1.00pm yesterday, police received a report that two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, had entered the premises.

“The man with the knife demanded that the assistant hand over money, which was put into a plastic bag.”

“It is believed the two men then made off in a silver coloured Mondeo car.”

“The man with the knife is described as being approximately 5’8” tall, of medium build. Wearing a black hooded jacket, blue checked face scarf and blue jeans.

“He appeared to have a tanned complexion. He had short grey hair with some grey facial hair growth and spoke with a local accent.”

“The second man is described as wearing a two toned hooded top grey/black in colour with blue tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.”

“I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or observed these men making off in the silver Mondeo car to contact Detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
