RED ARROWS PULL OUT OF NEWCASTLE AIR SHOW

Red ArrowsTECHNICAL issues have forced the Red Arrows to pull out of their display at the Newcastle air show this afternoon.

The air acrobatic team say is communication system has developed a fault.

The team said the systems, which allow pilots to talk to each other, have suffered technical issues.

Thousands of spectators have packed into the seaside town in the wake of the Mourne Mountains to watch various air displays on Saturday.

The Red Arrows were also due to fly over the course of the Ulster Grand Prix in Dundrod.

But that too has been cancelled.
