Police arrest man on suspicion of withholding information about the murder of Jennifer Dornan

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of withholding information about the murder of Jennifer Dornan.

He was detained on Wednesday and taken to the custody suite at Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast city centre for questioning.

Mother-of-three Jennifer Dornan was found dead following a fire at her home in Hazel View on the Lagmore estate in wesst Belfast last Sunday morning.

Detectives believe the 30-year-old was killed, possibly stabbed in the chest, before the fire was started in an effort to cover up the murder.

Officers say their enquiries were continuing and they were “making progress”.

The investigation team is still searching for a silver car seen speeding away from the scene on Sunday morning.

It was captured on CCTV footage from a neighbour’s house. The footage is now being examined to try and track the car.
