Victims campaigner Willie Frazer assaulted at his Co Armagh home

POLICE are investigating an assault on victims campaigner Willie Frazer.

It happened at his home on the Tandragee Road, Markethill, Co Armagh around 7 pm last night, Sunday, June 28.

The assault was captured on CCTV cameras which cover Mr Frazer’s home.

It is understood a man on a walking stick is seen approaching the house before attacking Mr Frazer.

Chief Inspector Gillian West said, “Police  investigating the assault  arrested a  60 year man in the Dungannon area, just after midnight,  on suspicion of common assault and threats to kill.

“He has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

“Investigations are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police in Armagh on the non-emergency number 101 or alternatively crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
