MAN RELEASED AFTER BOMB FOUND IN WEST BELFAST

Antrim serious crime suiteDETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have released a man who was arrested after a bomb was recovered by police in west Belfast.

The device was found during a planned search of a house in Lenadoon Avenue at about 8 pm on Friday night.

Around 10 homes were evacuated while Army Technical Officers made the improvised explosive device safe.

A man in the house was arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act and taken to the serious crime suite in Antrim for questioning.

The PSNI say the the man has now been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service for consideration.
