TEEN TO FACE COURT ON STAB MURDER BID CHARGE

Laganside Court houseAN 18 year old man has been charged by police following an incident in which three men were injured.

He has been charged with attempted murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault on police and other offences.

The suspect is appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday, June 12.

Police say a 20 year old man sustained a serious cut to his forehead after he was attacked with a knife at a house on Antrim Road in Glengormley at around 11pm on Wednesday night

A 51 year old man and a 74 year old man sustained cuts to their hands after they were chased from the property by the suspect and attacked close to a local petrol station.

The arrested male was detained at the scene by responding officers.

Detective Sergeant John McKendry said: “We believe this incident started at an address before moving a short distance down the road to the garage.

“This is a busy area and we are keen to speak with witnesses or anyone with information that could assist the investigation.
