POLICE PROBE ‘SUDDEN DEATHS’ OF COUPLE AT SEASIDE HOUSE

Police sceneDETECTIVES have launched a probe over the “sudden deaths” of a man and a woman found at a house.

The couple were found at a house in the Abbey area of Ballycastle, Co Antrim.

Crime scene investigators are examining the house for clues as to the cause of death.

Police said the investigation was at a very early stage and inquiries were ongoing to establish how they died.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said they were called to house at 9.25 pm last night, Thursday, June 4.

It followed a report two bodies had been found in the house.

He said the bodies may have been in the house “for some time”.

Local Sinn Fein councillor Cara McShane said the news was “absolutely shocking”.

She added: “This news has been devastating for this community in Ballycastle.

“It is clearly very distressing that two people have lost their lives.

“While the investigation is ongoing, our thoughts are with the family of the two people who have passed away,” she added.
