COPS HUNT MASKED MEN OVER NORTH BELFAST ROBBERY BID

Police scene armed copDETECTIVES are on the trail of two masked men armed with knives who tried to rob a man parking his car in north Belfast.

They have appealed for information over the incident in the Lowwood Park area in the early hours of Monday, June 1.

Police say that around 12.30 am officers received a report that two masked men who were brandishing what is believed to be knives had approached a man who had parked his car in the driveway of his house.

They demanded money but they fled the scene empty handed.

The men made off in the direction of Lowwood Gardens in a small silver vehicle.

The man was not injured during this incident, however he was left very badly shaken.

Detective Constable Natalie McNally said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.

“Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
