Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of ‘skunk ‘ cannabis seized by the PSNI

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have charged a couple in connection with a £1 million ‘skunk’ cannabis haul.

The 24-year-old woman and 35-year-old man are due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court this morning accused of money laundering.

Police arrested the pair in Milton Keynes on Thursday morning.

They also seized two high-value vehicles as part of the ongoing investigation into cannabis being shipped to Northern Ireland from Italy.

The man and woman are the latest to be charged as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of cannabis from Italy to Northern Ireland.

To date nine people have been charged.

Detectives said their inquiries will continue and they will go where the evidence takes them.
