TEENS CHARGED AFTER STOLEN VEHICLE RAMS INTO POLICE CAR

police crime scene pic 1THE PSNI say two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with a number of motoring offences over a stolen vehicle which smashed into a police car.

The car was stolen in the Kent Street area of Belfast city centre on Tuesday evening.

A police patrol spotted it being driven erratically on Whitecliff Parade in west Belfast shortly after 5 pm.

Then an hour later it was again spotted by police Falls Road.

Officers tried to intercept the suspects but the car was driven into reverse and smashed into the police vehicle.

Damage was caused to the police car and officers sustained minor injuries.

 

A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old were arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to another vehicle.

The 15-year-old appeared in Belfast Youth Court this morning.

The 14-year-old was bailed and is due to at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on the June 15.
