DETECTIVES say two women in their 90s and a man in his 80s are recovering after a three man gang stormed their way into their rural home last night.
The burglary happened in the Hilltown Road area of Kilcoo, Co Down, some time between 9.40 pm and 10.40 pm.
The PSNI say three men forced their way into the house and locked the elderly trio in a downstairs bedroom.
The thugs then ransacked the property but police still don’t know if anything ws taken; however it is not yet known if anything was stolen.
A PSNI spokesperson said:“The elderly occupants, two women aged in their 90s and a man aged in his 80s, were not injured but left shaken by their ordeal.
Detectives in Newry are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who may be able to assist the investigation in any other way to contact them at Ardmore PSNI station on the 101 non-emergency number.
