POLICE are investigating after a 59-year-old man died in a car crash in Rasharkin,  Co Antrim.

The accident happened at Townhill Road around 8.20 pm last night.

The PSNI say said no other vehicle was involved.

Officers have have appealed for witnesses to come forward and contact them on the 101 non emergency number..

Meanwhile, a man in his 20s is seriously ill in hospital following a separate crash in Co Antrim.

The accident happened at Ballinlea Road, Stranocum, just outside Ballymoney around 3.30 am this morning.

The road has been closed to traffic and diversions are in place.
