DETECTIVES have arrested a 36-year-old man after a male sustained a serious head injury in an overnight assault.

The 27-year-old was attacked In Catherine Street, Limavady, at about 1.30 am this morning.

He is being treated in Altnagelvin Hospital.

Det Sgt Brian Reid has appealed to anyone with information about the attack to contact police in Limavady on the non-emergency number 101.
