BOOKMAKERS Paddy Power are predicting that the DUP will take back east Belfast in next week’s Westminster Elections.
They are offering odds of 1/7 that Gavin Robinson will be the next Honourable Member for Belfast East in the House of Commons.
Sitting MP Naomi Long – who toppled Peter Robinson last time around – is 7/2 to hold onto east Belfast.
Sinn Fein are a 100/1 out-shot to take the seat.
The most interesting constituency to watch for is south Belfast where Alasdair McDonnell is up to against to rising stars within their own parties – Sinn Fein’s Mairtin O’Muilleoir and Jonathan Bell of the DUP.
The SDLP leader is 4/7 to keep his nose in the Westminster trough.
However, junior Stormont Minister Bell is running him a close second at odds of 5/2.
And former Belfast Lord Mayor O’Muilleoir is sitting at 7/1.
His high profile could be the undoing of McDonnell and let Bell in up the rails to clinch the seat back into unionist hands.
In North Belfast, Nigel Dodds is 1/9 favourite to retain his seat with Gerry Kelly is at 4/1. The SDLP are stuck in the stalls at 50/1.
And in west Belfast, Paul Maskey is surefire favourite at 1/10 with Alex Attwood out a 11/1 to bring the seat into the SDLP camp.
