POLICE have warned the public in west Belfast to be on the alert for cold callers ripping off householders.

The crooks have been offering roofing and driveway services over the last few days.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “They have been requesting large deposits in advance but not returning to complete work.

“Please pass this on or share with your friends, family & neighbours so that they don’t fall foul of this scam.”

Anyone who has been affected by the crooks or knows who is behind the scams is asked to ring the police.
