TWO more people have died on Northern Ireland’s roads bringing the total to 19 this year.
A man in his 40’s year old has died following a two vehicle collision involving a lorry and a van on the Melmount Road, Victoria Bridge, Strabane last night, Saturday 11 April. The accident occurred around 10 pm.
One male has been arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.
“Inspector Johnathan Hunter said, “I appeal to anyone who witnessed this collision or has information in relation to it, to please contact us at Strabane on 101.”
The road has now re-open to traffic.
Meanwhile, a woman in her 50’s has died following a one vehicle RTC on the Moneymore Road, Cookstown in the early hours of this morning, Sunday 12 April.
The accident occurred at approximately 2.30 am.
Inspector Andrew Hood said, “I appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw anyone walking on the Moneymore Road, Cookstown between 2 am and 2.30 am or has any information in relation to the accident, to please contact us at Cookstown on 101.”
The road remains closed at this time.
