DCI John McVea appeals for information about this morning’s murder

DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation today.

It follows the discovery of a man’s body in the boot of a car in the Windsor Road area of South Belfast.

Police say a man and a woman in their 20’s have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detectives and crime scene investigators are also currently examining a scene ten miles away at Church Gate apartments in the Mill Street area of Comber, Co Down.

One theory is that the yet unnamed victim was murdered at the apartments and his body driven in the boot of the car and dumped in south Belfast.

Detective Chief Inspector John McVea said:”I appeal to anyone who was in or around the Church Gate Studios late last night or earlier this morning and heard a disturbance or noted any suspicious activity to contact detectives at Newtownards 101.

“Or alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
