DETECTIVES believe dissident republican group Oglaigh na hEireann (ONH) shot a man in each leg in a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast.

The 26-year-old was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital following the shooting in the Lady Street area just before 9 pm last night.

Police have said two men dressed in dark clothing made off on foot in the direction of McDonnell Street.

The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives from west Belfast CID have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them on the 101 non emergency number..
