MAN ARRESTED AFTER MALE VICTIM STABBED OUTSIDE HOTEL

police crime scene pic 1POLICE in Newtownabbey have arrested a man in his 20’s following an incident at a hotel in the Glengormley area in the early hours of Sunday 29th March.

The attack happened outside the Chimney Corner Hotel.

Detective Sergeant John McKendry said, “ Police were called to the scene of a stabbing incident at the hotel at around 3.20am this morning.

“Upon arrival a man in his 30’s was being treated by ambulance staff for stab wounds and a man in his 20’s was subsequently detained by officers.

“The injured man is currently in hospital being treated for what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. The suspect remains in custody helping with enquiries.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives at Newtownabbey on 101. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
