POLICE have this evening revealed that detectives have arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run incident.
A man was left critically ill in hospital after he was struck by a car on the New Lodge Road in north Belfast on Tuesday night around 10 pm.
The suspect has been taken to Musgrave PSNI station for questioning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene and failing to report an accident.
Detectives had yesterday made an appeal for information about the hit-and-run.
