DETECTIVES in Belfast are appealing for information following a hit and run road crash in north Belfast last night which has left a man fighting for his life.

Detective Inspector Jenna Fitzpatrick said: “ A man in his 30’s was struck, and seriously injured, by a Green Ford Focus shortly before 10pm on Tuesday evening.

“Information suggests that the car had been seen being driven dangerously in the area in the time leading up to the collision.

“The car was abandoned a short distance away from the scene at Donore Court.

“The injured man remains in hospital and is described as being in a critical but stable condition.”

DI Fitzpatrick added: “Police enquiries are continuing to identify the driver of the car involved in this incident and detectives are following a number of lines of enquiry.

“I would, however, appeal to anyone with any information to assist us with our enquiries to contact CID at Musgrave on 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
