POLICE say a shop in Downpatrick has been robbed by a man armed with a hammer.

The man made off with money from a shop on Fountain Street at about 20 45 pm  last night.

The PSNI say a 19-year-old staff member was left shaken by the incident.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency 101 number.
