POLICE in north Belfast are currently at the scene of a security alert in the Shore Road area.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object.

Army Technical Officers have been tasked and the Shore Road has been closed at its junctions with Grays Lane and Donegall Park Avenue.

Local diversions are in place and motorists are asked to the avoid the area if possible.
