THE PSNI launched a major investigation today in the sale and distribution of parts of endangered species.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers from Lurgan NPT today assisted our colleagues from PSNI Wildlife Liaison Unit, the National Crime Agency and the Scottish Wildlife Criminal Investigation Unit with a search in the Lurgan area.
“The search was conducted in relation to the import / export, sale and distribution of species protected by the Control of Trade in Endangered Species regulations 1997.
“We seized a number of items some of which we have pictured here.
“Our enquiries are ongoing at this time but we’ll keep you posted with progress.”
