WEST BELFAST ROBBERY: MAN ARMED WITH MACHETE IN SHOP HOLD UP BID

PSNIPOLICE in west Belfast are appealing for information in relation to an armed robbery last week.

It happened at a shop on Shaws Road at approximately 6:45 pm on Wednesday 18th February 2015.

Detective Constable Karen Hughes says: “A male with a black scarf over his face, and armed with a machete entered the premises just before 6.45pm and went directly to the tills.

“He struck the counter a number of times with the machete.  Nothing was taken during the incident.

“The male is described as being of medium build, wearing a grey hooded top, with a blue Adidas logs, grey arms with white on the main body and purple/blue trainers.

“It is believed the male was also carrying an orange bag and that on leaving the shop, he ran down Rossnareens, towards Culmore Gardens.

“Anyone who may have witnessed this male or who may have information relating to the incident is asked to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101.

“Or alternatively information can be provided anonymously through independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
