POLICE are investigating after a 13-year-old girl has died following a crash. 

The accident, involving two vehicles, happened on the Glenshane Road Derry shortly after 5 pm on Sunday.

Her sister has been critically injured.

The dead girl was from the Redcastle area of Co Donegal. She is the seventh person to die on Northern Ireland’s roads this year.

Her name has not yet been released.

The road has now reopened after being closed at its junction with the Tamnaherin Road and Tirbracken Road.
