NEPHEW CHARGED WITH MURDERING UNCLE AT TRAVELLER WEDDING

Omagh magistrates courtDETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have charged a man with murdering his uncle at a traveller wedding.

Patrick ‘Toucher’ McGinley, 46, will face Omagh Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing to be charged with murdering his uncle Barney McGinley contrary to common law.

The 63-year-old was blasted to death with a shotgun at a teenagers’ wedding in Belcoo, Co Fermanagh on February 11.

Mr McGinley, a member of the travelling community, was airlifted to hospital but died later. Another man, who is in his 30s, was also shot and injured.

The 46-year-old is to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court on Saturday. He was arrested in Belfast on Wednesday.

‘Toucher’ McGinley fled the scene and across the border into the Republic.

On Thursday, he handed himself into Musgrave Police Station were he was formally arrested for the murder.
