MEMBERS of the PSNI, Belfast City Council, FASA and local politicians attended the launch of the new Rapid drugs bin at Co op, Oldpark road, north Belfast today.

Among those attended was Belfast’s Lord Mayor Councillor Nicola Mallon.

Said a PSNI spokesperson: “The Rapid drugs bin is a safe and anonymous way for concerned members of the public to dispose of illegal drugs, unused prescription pills or legal highs.

“This is another great resource in our fight against drugs and we hope that members of the public will utilise this facility.

“Remember drugs and drug related crime affects us all and as a community we all need to work together to rid our streets of this problem.

“This is completely anonymous and there will be no further Police investigations into any deposited items.”
