THE PSNI say a petrol bomb was thrown at emergency services as they responded to an incident in the grounds of Lurgan Hospital.

The police say a traffic barrier was also set alight during the incident on Thursday night.

Police have said they are concerned at the behaviour of a number of young people in the grounds of the hospital.

They said it was not an isolated incident and have asked “parents to ensure they know exactly where their children are and what they are up to”.

A police spokesperson said: “It is quite clear that those involved had no regard for the potential danger or annoyance that their actions may have caused to the elderly patients, their visiting families and the hospital staff who work tirelessly to provide a service to the whole community.
