COUPLE CHEAT INJURY IN GUN ATTACK

Police crime scene picDETECTIVES are investigating after a couple escaped injury in a shooting at a house.

They were in the house on the Tandragee Road in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone when their neighbours reported hearing a number of shots being fired at about 10.30 pm on Friday.

Police officers were called to the scene and four “strike marks” were discovered on the wall of the property.

A police spokesman said the couple was “left shaken by the attack”.

Det Sgt Brian Maxwell said: “I appeal to anyone who was in the area of Tandragee Road last night and witnessed the incident or noticed any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area to contact detectives in Cookstown on the non-emergency number 101.”
