PIPE BOMB FOUND IN NORTH BELFAST

POLICE have uncovered a pipe bomb during a security alert in north Belfast earlier today.
Army Technical Officers made safe what they described as “viable pipe bomb device”.
The PSNI earlier closed North Queen Street and Great Georges Street are the discovery of a “suspicious object”
The viable device has now been taken away for forensic examination.
Roads have re-opened in the area and residents have been allowed back into their homes.
Police have appealed for anyone with information about those behind the pipe bomb to contact them urgently.
