POLICE are appealing for information following an assault last night.
It happened in the Kilclief Gardens area of Bangor.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Officers received a report that a 38 year-old man had been assaulted in the area just before 3am.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment for a number of injuries.
“A 29-year-old male has been arrested and is currently helping police with their enquiries.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone with any other information, to contact detectives in Bangor on the non-emergency number 101.
“Alternatively, information about crime can be passed to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by telephoning 0800 555 111.”
