A MAJOR operation was launched on Friday night to deal with a fire on the roof of the Belfast’s tallest building.
A number of residents from the upper floors of the 28-storey Obel Tower had to leave their luxury apartments as precaution.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze had been brought under control with the help of 50 fire officers.
Nine appliances from stations across Belfast were tasked to the scene.
Crews also carried a floor by floor check to ensure the fire had not spread.
