THIS is the motorist dubbed ‘Johnny The Wally’ who ploughed through a roundabout yesterday morning.
The four-by-four jeep driver came up the Ormeau Road in south Belfast but failed to notice the roundabout ahead.
And instead of pausing to negotiate his route, ‘Johnny’ went through it, almost wrecking his car in the process.
He was later seen in anger dancing on the bonnet of his jeep.
‘Johnny’ said sarcastically:”I was looking for a parking place and one found me.
“It’s not the most appropriate one.
“I have to get a few more photographs taken before the recovery people come.”
The Co Down man was not injured and described the crash as a “victimless crime”.
“I broke a stone, I’ll fix that,” he added.
Now police have his vehicle registration number, ‘Johnny’ should not rule out the possibility that he could face prosecution for driving without due care and attention.
