DISSIDENT REPUBLICANS BLAMED OVER NORTH BELFAST SHOOTING

police crime scene pic 1DETECTIVES are investigating after a man in his 30s has been injured in a dissident republican paramilitary shooting.

It happened in the New Lodge area of north Belfast.

Police say the victim was shot in both legs at Carlisle Parade. It was reported to police at around 7.40 pm this evening,

He is being treated in hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
