POLICE arrested a man for drink driving in the early hours of this morning after a two vehicle road traffic collision on the Oldpark Road in north Belfast.
The driver of one of the two vehicles made off on foot but was pursued by police and caught on the Deerpark Road and detained.
A spokesman said: “A preliminary breath test indicated the suspect may have been as much as 5 times the legal limit!
“The male was subsequently arrested on suspicion of Driving with Excess Alcohol, Dangerous Driving and Aggravated Vehicle Taking.”
