MAN HUNTED OVER OFF-LICENCE ROBBERY BID

musgrave psniDETECTIVES in South Belfast are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at an off licence on the Shore Road, this afternoon.

It was reported that a man armed with sharp instrument entered the premises just after 1.30 pm and demanded money.

A female member of staff refused to hand over any money and challenged the man who made off towards Grey’s Lane on foot, empty handed.

Detective Sergeant Ken Leckey said: “The man was described as being around 5’ 11” and thin build.

“He was wearing a red hooded top pulled around his face, blue jeans and trainers.”

Added DS Leckey: “I would appeal for anyone who has any information about the  incident to contact CID in Tennant Street on 101.

“Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
